About Amy
Hi! I'm Amy. By day, I'm a business development leader in the space industry.
Beyond my occupational role, I'm an emerging author and speaker on the nuanced topic of living and grieving well.
After receiving terminal diagnoses for my two daughters—and losing one after just 14 days—I have come to realize our society needs a refresher course on how to approach loss (of all kinds, not just death) with empathy. I'm determined to become a humble champion for this cause.

Forced to bloom where planted from the start, I left my Texas homeland at age three and spent 12 years in Southeast Asia before crash landing into Florida for high school. After graduating summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a degree in public relations, I entered the jungle of Corporate America.

While What Not to Say at a Funeral is my debut manuscript, I have extensive experience crafting impactful business communications and speeches throughout my career.

When I'm not working or writing, you can find me spending time with my family, cheering for the Dallas Mavericks, and discussing good books with dear friends.
When it comes to grief and loss, it’s my theory that by saying something, you risk momentary discomfort… but by saying nothing,
you risk an entire relationship.
